Hola!
Yeah when he (Mission President) said that (only 9 months left) it kind of freaked me out too, but oh well. I´ll just keep on chuggin haha. Yeah, so no package yet. I'm sure I'll get it tomorrow when we go to the office. After all, its the only time that we get mail. Once a week.   Nope, we wont be getting cut again. It was up to the mission president as to when to make the adjustment. Ours just decided to get it our of the way. You guys got someone to church?? that's so awesome! You don't even know how great that is for us missionaries. Good job! Now learn spanish and tell all of our members how you did it. haha it honestly sounds too good to be true! But who is Lonnie? Is he the guy from Guam?
The mission office is in renton? Thats wierd. We are the Bahia Blanca mission and our office is in Bahia Blanca. haha. hmm. That doesn't make sense to me.
There were more fires in Colorado? dang. I swear its always on fire! I hope everyone is okay. No one has said anything to me yet.

Oh, I thought Nathan already had his license...oops haha. Keep working on it! Yeah he would be way expensive on the insurance. He can take the bus! Its not that bad. We have to do it all the time here. So I found the guy that does the leather scripture cases and I gave him all the stuff to start to go to work. Hopefully I don't get transferred before that are done! The guy showed me some examples and it was awesome, it looks exactly like the picture, but in leather. I'm excited haha.

So this week we found some pretty cool people with some potential. One was this couple that are married. The husband is 22 and the wife is 42 haha. uhhh yeah. Weird. They accepted to read the Book of Mormon pretty fast. Apparently the mom of the wife was a member before she died. Well I guess she would still be a member then haha. On the second visit we asked her to be baptized and she said that she was already a member and that she was baptized a long time ago as a child..crap. haha. I feel like this happens all the time here. There are so many in-actives that its not even funny. Every door you knock, you have to brace yourself that the person could already be a member, just inactive. Its the worst. Why don't they just tell you up front?? haha.

So were back on the church computer! Which means pictures!! haha Enjoy. We found an aeronaval museum...cool. haha.

I don't know what else to write, this week was kind of boring. It rained a lot which means everyone was inside sleeping. Hmm...yeah. Dang. I love the rain, but it makes working super hard. Well I love all of you guys! Thanks for everything!!

Elder Wheelwright

We found an aeronaval museum...cool
Fire in the house - Yeah, we like to burn things...nothing new, no? haha

Yeah, I have herbalife. Its pretty tasty and expensive.
dogs inside the house that we found on the street

Well....... Black face = exchanges and we painted our face with a burnt cork.  We just did it because we were bored..nothing else haha

Hola Family!
So recently its been way cold with a lot of rain. Its not that fun haha. I think I'm okay without thermals. I only have to survive a couple more months. Also the sleeping bag...hmm. It would be nice, but its not necessary at all. I found one at Walmart, but it was 700 pesos...no thanks. It was just a Coleman brand too. Super not worth it. I'm better off using blankets haha.
No sign of my package yet. I'm still crossing my fingers every time we go to the office on Tuesday haha.   E.Cross got one this week. It was full of all things American. haha oh yeah! Luckily, as a companion of the box receiver, you get to reap the benefits!
Yeah, so the dog bite wasn't that bad. I still have a scab from it. Yuck.  Recently I feel like my wounds and cuts haven't been healing as fast. Its actually super slow.
Happy 4th of July! We didn't do anything here. No fireworks or barbeques. It was just a regular day here. Independence day here in Argentina was on July 9th. But it rained all day, so everyone just stayed inside.
It sounds like you guys are doing lots of stuff as a family! That's awesome!

This past Saturday, we did exchanges with the APs. I'm not really sure why.   It´s not really a normal thing. Hmm...we still haven't figured out why. They told us that we've been being used as an example in a lot of things. Last transfer we had a lot of success. Presidente Parreño used us as the example in his leadership meeting and also we were used by the Bahia Blanca stake.   Pretty crazy stuff!

We had interviews this week and Presidente told me that I only have 9 months left. What the crap haha. It freaked me out! Time flies really fast. It just made me want to work even harder. Not trunky, fyi haha. Don't think I'm that missionary. My comp has 4 months left, and hes losing it a little bit haha.

So I'm super sorry about the no pictures. I have been taking them, but the internet in the church has been down, so we've been having to use a sketchy ciber. I'm afraid I'll get viruses on my flash drive or SD card. So until I can get back to a safe computer, there aren't any pics. Sorrrry!
How has Nathan been with driving? Does he ever go off and drive by himself?
Oh, so you're getting this email late because the ciber was closed on Monday and Tuesday, and we have no other access to computers. So we get the short end of this stick here in Harding Green. LAME!

Were preparing 2 people for baptism this weekend or the next. So I'm pretty stoked for that. One is a 12 year old kid of this lady we are trying to get married. We are hoping he can set the path or standard for her. The other baptism is a daughter of a recent convert. We finally got them to commit to get them baptized. FINALLY! So things are happening here for sure. I just wish it was a little bit better haha. Well I love you guys so much! Have an awesome weeek!!

small excerpt from email Elder Wheelwright sent to his dad:

"The thing about missionary work is that you could be on top of the world one week, and the next you are failing intensely. Its hard to have constant results because people have their agency. Make sure you guys are helping out the missionaries there. Its lame when the members don't really do anything."

Hola --

Hola familia!

This week was pretty great. We had a lot of lessons with people and
with our current investigators. The work is a little slow right now
in Harding Green. People are just not listening to us! I hear its
worse now because of the winter. Everyone is inside and doesn't want to
come out. We are focusing a lot on finding people now. I was hoping
that the members would just be super pumped up about the conference
that we just had, but nothing has really changed..lame. Not even one
reference. Come on guys! I feel like that's where we need to focus on
right now. I liked what Elder Holland said about missionaries shouldn't
be knocking doors because its a waste of time. And that members should
fill up our agendas! haha if only...

We have investigators with wierd situations right now. They are kind
of stuck. One is a couple that has been living together for 10 years
and they aren't married. The husband doesn't really have any interest in
what we teach (although he did tell us that he felt the spirit and
that he knows our church is true), and the wife doesn't really love the
husband and doesn't want to get married..hmmm. She REALLY wants to get
baptized though and she has all the lessons and has been to church
like 7 times. On Monday we got them to agree to go reserve a wedding
day with the government (they do it weird here in Argentina). But the
next morning they fought and "postponed" going to reserve their spot.
Grrrr...
One other guy has received an answer about the Book of Mormon, several
times I think. One was at the FHE we did at the
mission presidents house. He said he felt like something was going to
explode out of his chest as we watched the testaments and as we heard
the testimonies of people at the FHE. Hmm.. He has friends and family
in his other church and he goes there twice a week. He loves reading
the Book of Mormon, but he can't give up the other church..

We've been trying to visit the girl on the bus, but she is never home!
I really want to check in with her and her experiences with the Book of
Mormon, if she actually read it or not.

Camp Helaman eh? Sounds fun! I remember that I didn't want to go at all
haha. And I never ended up going because I got a job. yay!
Yeah, Langley left for Cambodia today. He has a crazy flight. SLC to LAX to
Hong Kong to Cambodia. 3 Days of traveling! ALSO he said that he was
chosen to be a model of missionaries with ipads and iphones in the
MTC. They took pics of him and he will now be in the next manual of
either PMG or an MTC training manual. Super crazy! He's Mormon famous
now! haha. So first day of the Federal Way mission huh? That is sooo
coool! How many missionaries are there? Also where is the mission
office at? Austin got home? thats cool! Everyone is coming home that I
know. Logan just got home too! I was a late bloomer thats why haha.
Where is Tyson going to again? California? That's what I remember,
maybe I'm way off haha.

So I got in an intense battle this week with a dog. It was nuts. It
ended up biting me. My first dog bite..grrr. We were knocking this
door, or should I say clapping..and this huge dog came out of no
where. It was jumping and barking at us. I picked up a rock to try to
scare it, but then it just got even more mad. It dove at my shins and
bit me, ouch! Freaking dumb dog. I was super mad, so I took this big
rock in my hand and threw it as hard as I could at this dog. I totally
hit it broadside and it ran of whining. Haha, I win! It was super
intense and I barely survived. Good thing I'm awesome, no?

Well I gotta go! I forgot my flash drive at home, so no pictures this
week! Sorry! I love you guys!!

Hola!

Hola!
So yeah, we were able to watch the broadcast. Yesterday we got all of our recent converts rides to go watch it and no one could take us. So we just went to the church and used the office computer. Only the stake center in downtown Bahia Blanca had it streaming (because they are the only ones with a satellite.) So yeah, it was really awesome. Very spiritually uplifting. Facebook sounds crazy, I just wonder when its going to hit us here. No idea! Maybe it won't. Using Ipads and things like that will never come to Argentina. They would get stolen so fast! I'm curious about the church tours though...hmm. I don't know whats going to happen there.

About the window. We tried gluing all of the pieces together with super glue haha. But that didn't work very well. So we ditched the gluing and just put a piece of cardboard up. I'm not sure what to do with it. Pray to get transferred out of the house? haha. Yeah I'm back to normal again. It was definitely food poisoning. I got over the being sick from water a long time ago. But yeah, everything is good now, minus a cold. Geeze.

This week was kind of slow. We didn't really find a lot of new people. There is this one family that we are working with that is super close to baptism. The parents just need to get married but the mom doesn't want to. So we had an intense lesson with a member with them and they are still being hard about the subject. We challenged them to pray about getting married, so we´ll see where that is going to go. That's 3 more baptisms that would happen in July.   Every week we have about 5 investigators at church as an average. There is also this one guy that we've been working with who has just recently picked up the Book of Mormon and is loving to read it. But he can't give up going to his other church. It's a little weird.

We taught this 20 year old girl that we talked to on the bus. It was a super strange lesson. At first she was super normal and acted like she wasn't really religious, but when we started teaching, she went into crazy attack mode. Gah, it was terrible haha. She kept saying false stuff about our religion and things like that. She would not accept that a Book of Mormon could even be possible. We destroyed her with scriptures though haha, it was fun. Although she thought she was right regardless. In the end, the lesson calmed down and we got to explain the promise of the Book of Mormon. She accepted to read and pray. It was weird, it turned around like 180degrees. Oh well, it was awesome.

Well thats all that I have time for! I love you guys! Chau!!

Hello family!  And happy fathers day dad!

This week was kind of crazy. We went on a lot of exchanges for some reason. I think because it was the end of the transfer, everyone aka the leaders had to get it over with. So I did a lot of work in other areas. We had some awesome FHE's with people this week who are going to get baptized now! LEGIT! Oh by the way, I'm staying in my area in Harding Green! With E.Cross for another 6 weeks. YAYA! I'm super happy, I love it here and the people are awesome!

So this week I got pretty sick. bleh. FOOD POISONING! wooohoo! Its probably the worst thing ever. I wanted to die. My body was super weak and it removed anything inside of it in any way possible. haha. I'm going to leave it at that. But yeah, I couldn't even go to church to see my converts get confirmed or anything. It was so lame! It was either from a bad empanada or the water. Either way, I'm scared to eat/drink either one. I'm just barely recovering, and I still feel kind of weak and light headed. But I think I'm good enough for now. I don't really have desires to eat food still. I feel like I've been on a sick cycle for awhile now. I just cant get over everything. Also there is a super bad cold virus going around Argentina right now and several people have already died. The government is giving away free shots to anyone. I'm not sure if the missionaries are getting them. We're on standby until we hear something.

The mission conference thing. (He is talking about the special missionary broadcast that happens this coming Sunday) You bet we are going to watch it!  Even if we're not supposed to! haha Syke. But I imagine that we're allowed to. I heard that all of the churches are getting let out early so people can watch it. I heard its going to bring some big changes! I'm excited and nervous at the same time. More rules? Different angles? I have no idea what's going to happen haha.  Prediction... its going to be a lot more internet based. As in, we use computers and chat with people and things like that. But I'm probably super wrong. We'll find out though!

So our window broke this week and now it feels like its winter inside of our house. All I did was close the door and the glass fell out. Windows here suck. They don't know how to do them! Also..I did a service project this week helping some guy install in windows. I felt like I was helping dad again haha. Weird stuff.     Also there is a Washington street! I totally got a picture of it! bam! Its awesome.

Yay a package! Thanks! I'll be waiting for it! I'm super stoked, I've been living without music for a whole transfer basically. Umm last minute things to put in..hmm. flaming hot cheetos or tabasco cheezits. por favor! surprise me! haha. Pack it up with American stuff. And Asian stuff for sure! Well gotta run! I love you all! Chau Chau!

Hola Familia!

So transfers are coming up in about a week! Holy cow this transfer has gone by so fast! I seriously cant believe it at all. Bahía Blanca is awesome and I really want to stay. But 1 transfer areas are common, so I guess I wont be too shocked that I'm out. But I'm about 99percent sure that I.m staying. We have a lot more baptisms to look forward to next transfer, so there is no way that I can leave! Elder Cross could leave though. This is his 2nd transfer here. But again, 3 is common.. So who knows! There is no way to predict transfers, even though you want to. haha.

So this week was pretty great I guess. We had divisions and I went with the district leader for 2 days. I'm like way sick right now with a cold. There are times in the night where I wake up and I can't breathe. Its scary stuff, but whatever. Also I lost my voice several times this week. The water thing has been long gone, We bought jugs of filtered water, so were good now. I don't even touch the tap anymore.

This weekend was pretty nuts. Sunday was our baptism and plus our branch president asked us to give talks..nooo! I gave mine on repentance. Holy cow..funny story about my talk haha. Besides the fact that I was super nervous, everything that could have gone wrong, went wrong. First of all, the microphone started making loud screeching noises about 5 minutes into my talk, it took us a couple minutes to get that one figured out haha.  Super embarrasing.  A couple minutes after that was over, I started having a coughing and choking attack haha. It sounds funny now, but I did it at the pulpit with everyone watching me. I was having a hard time breathing. Every time I breathed in, I had to cough instantly haha. There was something tickling my throat. It was sooo embarrasing! That lasted about a minute, and then someone brought me up a glass of water and then a little girl gave me a cough drop....haha. Dang.   Then a little bit after that, the bishopric slipped me a paper telling me that my time was up. I guess I was up there for like 20 minutes.

Right after church, we had the baptism. Only 4 ended up getting baptized. One of the kids backed out at the last second and we're going to do it the next weekend or the next. So to make a super long story short, the kid wanted to get  baptized, but his mom wouldn't let him get baptized in the clothes we had for him. She thought they were for a girl. It was just a jumpsuit! So yeah, dumb reason. And we checked with everyone, and that was literally the reason. The mom said, I don't want him getting baptized in girl clothes! haha...holy cow. Yeah, so we only had 4 and it was still really awesome!!

Today for p-day, we went to this awesome huge shopping mall in Bahia Blanca. Its like the only one here. There was a Subway and a Mcdonalds inside!! So we totally ate at Subway. It tasted good but it wasn't the same. I took pictures of us there, but I left the other memory card at home. This mall was great. I bought 2 scarves for the winter. I kind of lost track on how much I spent... Buyers remorse. haha. Shooot! We had an awesome time there, I want to go back! It felt like we were in the states again. Everything was super fancy too. So coming back to ol' ghetto Harding Green was rough haha. Well I think that's about all! I got your pictures for the cases in the mail! I am working on those getting sent off. The person who does them lives in Mar Del Plata, aka far away, so I have to figure out how to get them there.

I love you guys!! Thanks for all the support!! Nathan, endure to the end!! School is almost over haha! Oh and some of the houses are like that, not a ton. But there are a good amount of them.
Well gotta run!

Hola familia!

I'm sorry this is a day late haha. I'm sure yesterday you guys were all freaking out because I didn't write haha. It was a hectic day yesterday and we don't have a place in our  area where we can use computers...i know lame. So here we are today. Life is all good!

Yesterday was amazing. We had an FHE with 5 of our investigators and our mission president and his wife at their house aka mansion. Its a rare opportunity, not everyone has a chance to do this, but they invited us back after they came to the baptism we had a little while ago. We made the FHE about the Book of Mormon. I directed/led the whole thing. I was so scared! haha and super nervous, but it the end it turned out reallly good. The spirit was way strong there and everyone had a really good time. SUCCESS!   After, we mingled with them and we eat food and then we took a tour of their house. It was so great. Probably a highlight of my mission thus far haha.

So this week we started teaching these 2 girls of this family. They are going to get baptized probably in 2 weeks. They have been going to church for 2 years already and already know everything. Their dad is the one that just got baptized recently. So I am pretty stoked for that. The girls are really awesome and super funny too.

This Saturday, we should be having 5 baptisms! Yay! The family that we found a couple weeks ago. They are doing really awesome and just love having us over. Tonight we are going over for dinner and making pizzas! Super cool. During the week we also built a giant fire with them with tires, super cool! Its always a really fun time.

So the pictures, let me explain haha. We found this tree with baby doll pieces on it. Kinda scary no? I think its awesome. Also the house picture.. there are a bunch of super humble house here in our area that look like this. Pretty rough.

Well that's all I have time for. Again, sorry for the delayed email! It wasn't my fault! I love all of you guys! Chau Chau!
